Many people ask us where our name comes from, or “who is Gian?” We always enjoy sharing a bit about our grandfather, Gian. He started the restaurant and Indian sweets business in 1940 in a little town called Jagraon, in the province of Punjab, India. Since then, our father has carried his name, taking over the business after our grandfather passed away. Gian’s has now been serving Abbotsford for over 20 years. Our dad is still involved in the business, lending a hand, and helping us to maintain our focus on traditional, quality Indian cuisine.
We started out renting a 1000 square foot space on South Fraser Way, and slowly expanded to 2000 square feet. Within four years, this was then increased to 6000 feet. Due to the demand of our delicious food and our loyal customer base, we now have 2 locations to serve you. One location is for our Indian sweets, while the other is a fine family dining restaurant. We thank you for making us an A-list restaurant, over the past few years, and the number one Indian restaurant in Abbotsford, as voted by our customers.
Whether it is just for a treat for yourself or a friend, or for a special occasion, we have a variety of traditional Indian sweets for you!
Check our selection including many popular favourites such as Ladoo, Gulab jamun, Barfi, and Jalebi. If you are not familiar with these, just click on the links below for information and pictures.
